About FileMending

FileMending is a small online tool that fits a set of scanned documents under an upload limit.

What we do

We help people who must attach several scanned documents to an online application that limits the total size. The tool shrinks the files to an exact byte budget, keeps their names and order, and shows what changed before anyone pays.

Independence

FileMending is not affiliated with any consulate, government agency, school or employer, and does not give legal or immigration advice. Always follow the instructions of the office you are applying to.

How we build and test

Testing uses synthetic documents only, never customers' files or anyone's real personal documents. Automated tests cover size limits, grayscale conversion, payment confirmation, previews and file deletion. Results quoted on this site, such as the example on How it works, come from runs on the live service and carry their date.

How the guides are written

Guides are written by FileMending, drafted with AI assistance, and checked against how the tool actually behaves. We avoid claims about specific portals or agencies because their rules change. If you spot an error, tell us and we will correct the page.
